Mr C of Portsmouth…
Mr C was one of many former employees of the Royal Naval dockyards to develop malignant mesothelioma as a consequence of exposure to asbestos working as a shipwright. He worked afloat and had substantial exposure to asbestos for many years without any steps being taken to protect his health.
It was first suspected that he had mesothelioma in December 2005 and instructed Sintons to pursue his claim .
It is not unusual for there to be uncertainty in the minds of medical experts about the diagnosis and in this case it took several months for Mr C’s treating consultant to confirm that he did have the condition.
His claim settled for £120,000.00 shortly before his death.
